NIRO Investment Group, alongside the Romanian National Team at the NIRO Carpathian Trophy

NIRO Investment Group continues its commitment to supporting Romanian sports, being the main sponsor of the NIRO Carpathian Trophy, a prestigious competition that brings together elite teams and celebrates excellence, tenacity and sportsmanship. The event, organized by the Romanian Handball Federation (FRH), offered the public a high-quality sports show and emphasized the importance of supporting the national sport.

Although the trophy did not return to the Romanian national team this year, the team demonstrated courage, performance and determination – values ​​that NIRO Investment Group supports and promotes. “We are proud to be partners of this event and to contribute to the development of Romanian handball. Each competition represents a new opportunity to inspire and motivate future generations,” said Mihaela Istrate, Executive Director of NIRO Investment Group, present at the event alongside Raluca Mihaescu, Image & Communication Director, who had the honor of participating in the awarding of trophies.

By partnering with FRH and supporting the NIRO Carpathian Trophy, NIRO Investment Group reconfirms its active involvement in large-scale sports projects and the support offered to Romanian athletes on their way to performance.

Ceremony of awarding the State Order of Merit of the Republic of Latvia to His Excellency Mr. Ambassador Ioan Donca, Honorary Consul of Latvia in Romania

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania hosted a special ceremony in honor of His Excellency Mr. Ambassador Ioan Donca, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in Romania, who was awarded the State Order of Merit by the Republic of Latvia. This outstanding distinction is a recognition of Mr. Ambassador Donca’s outstanding contributions in strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations between Romania and Latvia, as well as his sustained efforts to promote the interests of both nations.

At the awarding ceremony, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of NIRO Investment SA were also present: Mr. Laurentiu Dumitru, shareholder of the company, Ms. Clitemnestra Bugheanu-Gadea, General Manager and President of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Valentin Macovescu, Protocol Director. The participation of these representatives underlined NIRO Investment SA’s commitment to support initiatives that promote bilateral relations and mutual respect between Romania and its international partners.

The distinction awarded by the Republic of Latvia reflects the recognition of Mr. Ambassador Ioan Donca’s dedication to promoting Latvian values ​​and developing a constructive dialogue between the two countries. Through his activity, Mr. Ambassador Donca has facilitated cooperation on multiple levels, supporting cultural, economic and diplomatic exchanges that strengthen the ties of friendship between Romania and Latvia.

Photo Exhibition Marking 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between Romania and the People’s Republic of China – at the Palace of Parliament

We were honored to participate earlier this week in the opening of the photo exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and the People’s Republic of China. The event took place at the Palace of Parliament and was organized by the Embassy of China in Romania, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, and the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the People’s Republic of China.

On behalf of NIRO Investment Group, Raluca Mihaescu, Image and Communication Director, and Valentin Macovescu, Director of Protocol, participated in this event.

This exhibition is part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at celebrating and strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations. The exhibition offers a visual retrospective of key moments in the Romanian-Chinese partnership, captured in photographs that illustrate not only diplomatic relations but also the economic, cultural, and social collaborations that have taken place over the decades.

His Excellency Mr. Han Chunlin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Romania, opened the event with a speech that emphasized the strategic and symbolic importance of the relationship between Romania and China. He highlighted the ways in which the two countries have collaborated in various fields, fostering economic and cultural development, as well as people-to-people exchanges.

The organization of this exhibition on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between China and Romania holds special significance. It represents not only a historical commemoration but also an opportunity to look towards the future, to the strengthening of a bridge for cultural exchanges and mutual learning between the two civilizations. 75 years of Romania-China bilateral relations – celebrate with a unique philately exhibition

Last week, the Chinese Cultural Center in Bucharest and the Romanian-Chinese House inaugurated the philately exhibition “Romania-China bilateral relations reflected in philately”, a special event that marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and Romania.

The exhibition, organized in partnership with the Bartoc Cultural Foundation, represents a foray into the history and evolution of bilateral relations between the two countries, through philately. During the event, the “Romania-China 75 years anniversary medal” and the anniversary philatelic envelope, made by the Bartoc Cultural Foundation, were launched, symbolizing the lasting friendship and collaboration between the two nations.

During the event, the “Friendship Bridge” exhibition was also opened, which presents a series of rare philatelic pieces and collection envelopes, offered by Mr. Alexandru Bartoc, president of the Bartoc Cultural Foundation. This unique collection illustrates significant moments in the history of Romanian-Chinese collaboration, reflected in stamps and other historical philatelic pieces, paying tribute to the friendship that binds the two nations.

The exhibition, which is open to the public free of charge until October 25, on the 3rd floor of the Chinese Cultural Center in Bucharest, is part of a series of events organized by the Romanian-Chinese House throughout this year, to celebrate 75 years of relations diplomatic.

With over 1,000 members and a network of 13 local offices in Romania, the Romanian-Chinese House, initiated and supported by NIRO Investment Group, plays an essential role in strengthening bilateral relations. It brings together experts, specialists, journalists and personalities from Romania and China, who actively contribute to the promotion of dialogue and the creation of common opportunities between the two countries. This stamp exhibition, as well as the launch of the anniversary medal and envelope, is not only a retrospective look at the diplomatic relations between Romania and China, but also a symbol of the collaboration between the two countries, continuing to organize events that strengthen historical and cultural ties.

Singureni Manor Polo Cup: A new chapter in the history of Romanian sport

We were honored to contribute to writing a new page of sports history in Romania, supporting the first international sand polo tournament in the country – Singureni Manor Polo Cup. The event, organized by the Singureni Polo Sport Club Association, in collaboration with World Polo, took place between October 11-13, 2024, at the Singureni Manor Equestrian Retreat and was a first for Romania.

The tournament brought together over 2800 spectators, both from Romania and from other European countries, underlining the potential of polo to become a new sporting and cultural attraction of reference in the Romanian landscape.

NIRO Investment Group was proud to participate in this event alongside the Corinthia brand, which will operate the group’s first hotel in Bucharest, scheduled to be inaugurated in early 2025.

We were present at the event together with Corinthia, the operator of the first hotel that we will inaugurate in Bucharest at the beginning of next year. During the three days of competitions, we enjoyed the show offered by the international polo teams, through matches full of dynamism and a special elegance. Also, the spectacular equestrian demonstrations added more charm to an already memorable event, turning the “Singureni Manor Polo Cup” into a landmark moment for the Romanian sports landscape.

Our participation in this event reiterates NIRO Investment Group’s desire to support projects that combine tradition with innovation and to contribute to strengthening Romania’s position on the international stage.
