The EHF EURO 2024 Women’s Handball Championship marks a historic first, as it is the first edition of the competition to feature 24 national teams. Romania is proudly represented by the women’s national team, which demonstrated passion and determination in the group stage, playing in Group B at the Fonix Arena in Debrecen, Hungary.
The support from the Romanian fans was impressive, with over 2,000 fans cheering the team on at every match, creating an electrifying atmosphere in the stadium. The team’s performance was crowned with a qualification to the main group I, alongside strong teams such as France, Sweden, Hungary, Montenegro and Poland.

Last week, Bucharest hosted INVESTSUMMIT2024, an event dedicated to leaders in the hospitality and investment industry, where emerging trends, the role of sustainability and market transformations in Romania and Eastern Europe were topics of major interest.

In a celebration of Romanian talent and music, Loredana Groza will mark 40 years of her career with an anniversary concert at Sala Palatului, supported by NIRO Investment Group. This concert, which will take place on the 16th and 17th of November, will celebrate not only the artist’s debut, in 1984, in the “Star without a name” contest, but also her unique contribution to the Romanian music scene.
Loredana was the first Romanian artist to take the stage of the Palace Hall after the 1989 Revolution, paving the way for a new era of Romanian music and inspiring generations of artists. Recognized for her ability to reinvent herself and create new trends, Loredana has greatly influenced the Romanian pop scene, becoming one of the most long-lived and beloved figures of our music. In addition to her outstanding vocal talent, Loredana also distinguished herself as a lyricist and composer, being the first Romanian artist who managed to write her own lyrics and produce her own albums, a standard rarely reached in the music industry.
The event will be sprinkled with emotional moments and a retrospective of an exceptional career, which crossed Romania’s borders and remained in the hearts of the public of all ages. A true landmark concert, which will celebrate an artist who continues to inspire with her unmistakable talent and her invaluable contribution to Romanian musical culture.

NIRO Investment SA won first place in the Services category in the Top Companies from District 2, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the City of Bucharest (CCIB), with the support of the City Hall of District 2. The event was aimed at recognizing and promoting companies with outstanding results and brought together top managers from District 2 as well as central and local government representatives.
The award was received by Mrs. Mihaela Istrate, Executive Director of NIRO Investment SA, and Mrs. Raluca Mihăescu, Director of Image and Communication.
The ranking made by CCIB reflects the importance of the services sector, which dominates the top of awarded companies in District 2, representing 38% of the total. The field of commerce ranks second, with 31%, followed by industry (12%). Also, construction, research-development and high-tech are each present with 7%, and tourism with 4%. A percentage of 1% of laureates represent sectors such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries.

According to the methodology of the top, among the 169,495 companies with headquarters in Bucharest that submitted the balance sheet for the year 2023, 65,677 companies (38.7%) met the eligibility criteria, and 7,417 were awarded by the CCIB. These companies achieved a cumulative turnover of 133 billion euros, an operating profit of more than 13.6 billion euros and generated 553.5 thousand jobs.
