Last week, Christmas lights transformed Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard into a symbol of holidays and elegance. The emblematic building in the center of Bucharest, inaugurated in 1873 and designed by architect Alexandru Orăscu for jeweler Jacques Herdan, was restored by NIRO Investment Group. Thus, the hotel continues its story as a witness to the history and transformations of the capital.

The festive decor impresses with its refined details and deep meanings. Hot air balloon-shaped ornaments evoke the nostalgia of holidays of yesteryear, while carousel horses bring a playful touch, contrasting with the classic sophistication of neoclassical architecture. At the center of the decor, a thematic Christmas tree with clocks symbolizes the passage of time and the beauty of festive moments. The entire ensemble is completed by thousands of lights, fir trees and other elements that form a fairy tale setting.

Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard is preparing for a new stage, to be reopened in 2025 as a luxury boutique hotel, with 30 exclusive suites. The future destination will host the famous SASS in Monaco and a spa center and will redefine the standards of luxury hospitality in Bucharest.

This initiative symbolizes not only the restoration of a historic building, but also the celebration of a new chapter for the cultural heritage of the capital. Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard will remain a place where tradition meets modernity, offering guests an unparalleled experience.

The Year of the Wood Dragon – Celebrated at the Bucharest National Opera

NIRO Investment Group, the Romanian-Chinese House Association and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Romania, organized an extraordinary Cultural Gala last night to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Romania, local authorities, businessmen, art and culture, representatives of the Chinese community in Romania.

Held at the Bucharest National Opera, the event began with a grand concert by the orchestra of the Bucharest National Opera, which had Damian Drăghici as a special guest and performed emblematic musical compositions of Romanian culture. Among them are the Romanian Rhapsody no. 1, signed by George Enescu, the Ballade for violin and orchestra, composed by maestro Ciprian Porumbescu, as well as Hora Staccato, an unmistakable creation of Grigoraș Dinicu.

The outstanding performance continued with the appearance of the Allegretto Children’s Choir on stage, and the traditional Chinese moment of the Gala was expressed by the impressive performance of the Artist Troupe from Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. The show also held exhibitions of fine arts and crafts originating from Quanzhou, accompanied by exciting live performances, an exquisite display of Quanzhou traditional costumes, martial arts, puppet show and more. The show was followed by an impressive display of fireworks, which crowned an evening dedicated to hope, joy, and friendship.

Chinese New Year, known as the Spring Festival, is one of the most notable holidays in Chinese culture and other Asian communities, marking the beginning of a new year in the Chinese lunar calendar. This festivity is associated with renewal, prosperity, and well-being. In the Chinese calendar, the year 2024 belongs to a special paradigm, being the Year of the Wood Dragon, considered the most noble and powerful Chinese zodiac sign. It is revered as a symbol of courage, success, and wisdom, associated with wealth and happiness.

Recognition for Niro Investment Group at the „Dezvoltăm România Sustenabil” Gala

In June, at the InterContinental Athénée Palace Bucharest, the „Dezvoltăm Romania Sustenabil” Gala took place, an event that celebrates the contribution of players from different industries of the local economy to the development of a sustainable future for the next generations. The event marked their sustained contribution to building a more sustainable future – for the environment, for people, for the economy. Moreover, the award-winning companies also nominated partners or NGO’s involved in sustainability and social responsibility projects. The gala was opened by the Minister of the Environment, Waters and Forests, Mircea Fechet.

Niro Investment Group was represented by Anca Simionescu – Director General of Niro Investment Group – who accepted the trophy for targets achieved within the sustainable development objective – Sustainable cities and communities and awarded, further, the Bookland Association, thus passing on „the torch of of sustainability”. From the Niro Group, the event was also attended by Clitemnestra Gâdea – President of the Board of Directors and Valentin Macovescu – Director of Communication, Image and Protocol.
