NIRO Investment Group supports excellence in Romanian historical research

During the XXXIII edition of the “Cristian Popişteanu” Annual Symposium on Banking History and Civilization, recently organized by the National Bank of Romania and the “Magazin Istoric” Cultural Foundation, the awards for the most valuable contributions to historical research in 2024 were presented.

During the event, NIRO Investment Group had the honor of supporting the awarding of two important distinctions, intended to promote and value academic research and exceptional contributions to the understanding of national history:

The “Confucius” Award, awarded posthumously to His Excellency, Romulus Ioan Budura for the volume “Un destin norocos. Memoirs”, published by Top Form Publishing House in Bucharest. The work offers a valuable insight into the destiny of a remarkable diplomat, witness and participant in key events of contemporary history.

The "Grigore Gafencu" Award, offered to Mr. George Damian Mocanu for the book "How the borders of Romania were drawn in Paris in 1919: Minutes of the Commission for the Study of Territorial Issues Concerning Romania", published by Tana Publishing House, Muşăteşti, in 2024. The volume brings to light essential documents for understanding the diplomatic process surrounding the recognition of Romania's borders after the First World War.

For the constant support offered to cultural and scientific values, the "Magazin Istoric" Cultural Foundation awarded NIRO Investment Group a diploma of excellence for patronage, as a sign of appreciation for its active involvement in supporting historical research and cultural projects. The diploma was received by Valentin Macovescu, Image, Communication and Protocol Director at NIRO Investment Group, who also handed out the awards on behalf of the company.
